Accuracy of HBeAg to identify pregnant women at risk of transmitting hepatitis B virus to their neonates: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Review (67 studies) found optimal threshold for mother-to-child transmission of hepatitis B virus to be maternal HBV DNA of >5.30 log 10 IU/mL, which can be identified by hepatitis B e antigen testing and has high sensitivity to predict cases of immunoprophylaxis failure.
