Adverse outcomes of proton pump inhibitors in patients with chronic kidney disease The CKD‐REIN cohort study

Study (3,023 patients with CKD stage 2-5) found PPI prescription was associated with an increased risk of end stage kidney disease (HR 1.74, 95%CI 1.26-2.40) all-cause mortality (2.42, 1.73-3.39), and acute kidney injury (2.89, 95% CI 1.91-4.38).
