All Wales Adult Asthma Management and Prescribing Guideline (Consultation)
Following endorsement and publication of the original guidelines in August 2020, the Respiratory Health Implementation Group (RHIG) has developed an update to encourage consideration of the decarbonisation agenda of NHS Wales.

SPS commentary:
This includes recommending the preferential prescribing of Dry Powder Inhalers (DPIs) rather than Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs) due to their significantly reduced environmental impact. This is aligned to the NHS Wales target of reducing the use of MDIs from more than 70% down to less than 20% by 2025. Where appropriate, newly available inhaler options have also been incorporated.
