Antibiotics to prevent complications following tooth extractions

Review (23 RCTs; n=3206; low certainty evidence) found antibiotics may reduce risk of postsurgical infectious complications in third molar extractions (RR 0.34, 95% CI 0.19 to 0.64), and dry socket (0.66; 0.45 to 0.97) vs placebo. Evidence uncertain for pain, fever and ADRs.
