Antibiotics versus topical antiseptics for chronic suppurative otitis media

Review of seven studies (n=935) found that treatment with topical antibiotics (quinolones) probably results in an increase in resolution of ear discharge vs boric acid. There was limited evidence for the efficacy of other agents. Adverse events were not well reported.
