Assessment of Long-term Benefit of Intensive Blood Pressure Control on Residual Life Span: Secondary Analysis of the Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT)

Post hoc actuarial analyses (n=9361) found intensive BP control improves projected survival by 6 months to up to 3 years among middle-aged and older non-diabetic adults at high CV risk. Absolute survival gains decreased with age, but relative benefits were consistent (4% to 9%).
