Association between palliative care and healthcare outcomes among adults with terminal non-cancer illness: population based matched cohort study

Canadian study (n=113,540) reports palliative care was linked to reduced rates of emergency department visits compared with those who did not receive palliative care (crude rate 1.9 (SD 6.2) vs. 2.9 (8.7) per person year, and may have important implications for health policy.
