Association between statin use and outcomes in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19): a nationwide cohort study
Danish study (4842 patients with COVID-19; 17% on statins) found statin use was not associated with different risk of mortality (HR 0.96) severe COVID-19 infection (HR 1.16) or composite all-cause mortality or severe COVID-19 infection (HR 1.05) vs non-users.

Authors state that this study was performed owing to recent publication of an observational study which reported that in-hospital use of statins was associated with substantial improvement in survival among patients hospitalised with COVID-19.
