Analysis of 2 US studies found that the prevalence of isolated diastolic hypertension according to the 2017 ACC/AHA guideline (systolic BP >130mmHg, diastolic >80mmHg) was 6.5% vs 1.3% for the 2003 JNC7 definition (140/90). 0.6% more also reached the threshold for pharmacotherapy
