Association of non-malignant diseases with thrombocytosis: a prospective cohort study in general practice

Study (n=39,850) found thrombocytosis liked to several non-malignant (NM) diseases:4579 (11.5%) newly diagnosed with any 1 of candidate diseases vs. 443 of 9684(4.6%) in normal platelet count cohort (RR 2.5;95% CI 2.3-2.8) & 57% had pre-existing NM diagnosis vs. 50%, respectively
