Association of β-blocker use with survival and pulmonary function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary and cardiovascular disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis

This review (12 RCTs and 37 observational studies; n=670,594) found use of beta blockers (BB) was associated with reduced risk of COPD exacerbation (HR 0.77; 95% CI 0.67-0.89; driven by reduction with cardioselective BB) and mortality (0.70; 0.59-0.83], when compared to no use.
