Blood Pressure Variability and Risk of Heart Failure in ACCORD and the VADT

This analysis found BP variability was associated with increased risk for heart failure in both the ACCORD (both systolic and diastolic BP) and the VADT study (diastolic BP). Effects were related to dips in BP and the authors suggest it may be due to periods of ischaemia.
