C-reactive protein point-of-care testing for safely reducing antibiotics for acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: the PACE RCT

RCT (n=653) found that those randomised to CRP guided antibiotic prescribing consumed less antibiotics than those in the usual care group (77.4% vs 57.0%, adjusted OR 0.31, 95% CI 0.20-0.47). The mean incremental cost effectiveness ratio was £15,251 per QALY.
