Cardiac mortality in patients randomised to elective coronary revascularisation plus medical therapy or medical therapy alone: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Review (23 studies; n=19,806-stable coronary artery disease) noted elective coronary revascularisation plus medical therapy (MT) led to reduced cardiac mortality vs. MT alone (RR cardiac death: 0.79; 95% CI 0.67–0.93;p < 0.01 and spontaneous MI: 0.74; 0.64–0.86, p < 0.01).
