Cohort study (n=2502) found implementation of secure prescription pads reduced exposure to zolpidem and impacted prescribing of other sedatives (continuation of zolpidem 42%; discontinuation of sedative medications 31%; change to zopiclone; 21%; change to benzodiazepines 6%).
