Comparison of Integrated Outpatient Palliative Care With Standard Care in Patients With Parkinson Disease and Related Disorders A Randomized Clinical Trial

US-based RCT (n=210) reports patients receiving palliative care had better quality of life at 6 months (primary outcome) as well as symptom burden although this was not clinically significant. No significant difference was found in caregiver burden at 6 months (coprimary outcome)

A related editorial discusses the concept of palliative care beyond end of life care, and also suggests further research is needed into the various models of palliative care.
