In a Policy Statement, the American Heart Association pledges to support 5 key areas: professional healthcare worker education and training, technical support for the implementation of evidence-based strategies for rheumatic fever/ rheumatic heart disease (RHD) prevention, access to essential medications and technologies, research; and advocacy to increase global awareness, resources, and capacity for RHD control.
