Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and Cardiovascular Disease

This review describes the coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), which invades cells through the angiotensin converting enzyme 2 receptor, and describes the impact of the infection. Evidence linking COVID-19 with increased morbidity and mortality from cardiovascular disease is provided.
