Cost-effectiveness of emergency preparedness measures in response to infectious respiratory disease outbreaks: a systematic review and econometric analysis

Modelling study found the economic burden of infectious respiratory disease outbreaks was significant to society. Largest costs were mainly due to losses of productivity, and targeted antiviral prophylaxis was the best intervention to reduce societal costs.
