Cost-saving effect of early less invasive surfactant administration versus continuous positive airway pressure therapy alone for preterm infants with respiratory distress syndrome
Study suggests early rescue with less invasive surfactant administration is expected to reduce resource consumption and costs vs. conservative therapy based on CPAP alone for preterm infants born at 25–32 weeks gestation (particularly for 25–32 weeks gestation; −£5146 per case).
