This covers identifying, assessing and managing long-term effects of COVID-19 (‘long COVID’). It includes recommendations about care in all settings for those who have new or ongoing symptoms 4 weeks or more after the start of acute COVID-19, and advice on organising services.

This guideline has been developed jointly by NICE, the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) and the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP). It is being developed using a ‘living’ approach, which means that targeted areas of the guideline will be continuously reviewed and updated in response to emerging evidence.
