The latest of these weekly reports contains information on the effectiveness of the Covid-19 vaccines in the real world, and the impact on symptomatic disease, hospitalisation, death, infection (symptomatic or asymptomatic) and transmission.

SPS commentary:
The latest estimates indicate that the vaccination programme has directly averted around 52,600 hospitalisations in those aged 65 years and over in England; this is likely to be an underestimate as the indirect effects of the vaccination programme have not been incorporated in the analysis.
Estimates suggest that 36,900 deaths and 11,755,000 infections have been prevented as a result of the COVID-19 vaccination programme, up to 9 July 2021.
