COVID-19 vaccines have prevented 10,400 deaths in older adults
Based on an analysis comparing number of deaths with expected number of deaths if the vaccine hadn’t been given from 8/12/20 to 31/3/21, Public Health estimates that 10,400 deaths were prevented; 9,100 in > 80 years, 1,200 in 70 to 79 years and 100 in those 60 to 69 years.
