Deaths involving COVID-19 by local area and socioeconomic deprivation: deaths occurring between 1 March and 31 May 2020

This analysis found there were 81.2 deaths per 100,000 people involving Covid-19 in this period, with London having the highest age-standardised mortality rate (137.6 per 100,000). Mortality rate fell by more than half in all but two regions between April and May.
