Delayed antibiotic prescribing for respiratory tract infections: individual patient data meta-analysis

Analysis (13 studies;n=55,682) found delayed antibiotic (DAB) prescribing is a safe & effective strategy for most patients; with no difference in follow-up symptom severity for DAB vs. immediate (mean difference −0.003, 95% CI −0.12 to 0.11) or DAB vs. no ABs (0.02;−0.11 to 0.15)
