Depressive symptoms, mental wellbeing, and substance use among adolescents before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in Iceland: a longitudinal, population-based study

Study (n=59,701 survey responses) found the pandemic was associated with an increase in depressive symptoms and worsened mental wellbeing across all age groups, particularly in adolescent girls. Cigarette smoking, e-cigarette use and alcohol intoxication declined.
