DTB select: Can a point-of-care CRP test reduce antibiotic use in COPD?

Summary and context is provided on RCT (n=537) which found that using CRP test to guide antibiotic prescribing in primary care reduced prescribing and use of antibiotics in people with an acute exacerbation of COPD (57% vs. 77.4% usual care group; OR 0.31, 95% CI 0.20 to 0.47).
