SPS commentary:
The UK Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare has not changed its guidance on emergency contraception following the publication of the study. Any change would need to take into account potential adverse effects of piroxicam, contraindications to the use of piroxicam and that use of piroxicam with levonorgestrel for emergency contraception would be off-label.
