Duration of amoxicillin-clavulanate for protracted bacterial bronchitis in children (DACS): a multi-centre, double blind, randomised controlled trial
RCT (n=106) found no difference in cough resolution at day 28 for a 4 week vs 2 week course of amoxicillin–clavulanate in chronic wet cough and suspected protracted bacterial bronchitis. However time to next exacerbation was longer with a 4-week course (150 vs 32 days, p=0.02).
