Early neuromuscular blocking agents for adults with acute respiratory distress syndrome: a systematic review, meta-analysis and meta-regression

This analysis (7 RCTs; n=1598) found neuromuscular blocking agents decreased 21–28 days mortality (HR 0.71; 0.53-0.96; p=0.02), rates of pneumothorax (0.46; 0.28-0.77; p=0.003) and barotrauma (0.56; 0.37-0.86; p=0.008), but were not associated with reduced 90-day mortality.
