Effect of aspirin on deaths associated with sepsis in healthy older people (ANTISEPSIS): a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled primary prevention trial

In community dwelling older adults (aged >70) without major illnesses (n=16,703), primary prevention with aspirin (100mg daily) did not reduce the risk of death associated with sepsis (HR for aspirin vs placebo 1.08, 95% CI 0.82–1.43; p=0.57).
