Authors’ of a related editorial also add that, identifying cannabis-impaired drivers is not as easy as identifying those with blood alcohol levels higher than the legal limit. For one, a national standard for drugged driving does not exist; and the pharmacokinetics of tetrahydrocannabinol is so different from alcohol that it creates a practical problem that needs addressing with further research.
