Effect of infusion set replacement intervals on catheter-related bloodstream infections (RSVP): a randomised, controlled, equivalence (central venous access device)–non-inferiority (peripheral arterial catheter) trial

This study (n=2,944) found similar rates of catheter-related bloodstream infections for 7-day and 4-day infusion set replacement, for central venous access devices (absolute risk difference 0.32%, 95% CI −0.73 to 1.37) and peripheral arterial catheters (0.28%, −0.27% to 0.83%).
