Effect of the vancomycin minimum inhibitory concentration on clinical outcomes in patients with methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus bacteraemia: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Review (15 studies) found bacteraemia due to MSSA isolates with high vancomycin MICs was associated with higher mortality (OR 1.44; 95% CI 1.12 to 1.84; I2=40.3%), greater septic thrombophlebitis (1.79; 0.97 to 3.31; I2=0%) and more persistent bacteraemia vs low MICs.
