RCT (n=90) reports more gabapentin-treated individuals had no heavy drinking days (27%) vs placebo (9%) - difference 18.6% (95% CI 3.1-34.1; P=0.02; number needed to treat 5.4), and more total abstinence (18% vs 4% respectively) - difference 13.8% (1.0-26.7; P=0.04; NNT 6.2).
