Text has been added to the SPC to highlight a small study which found that overall immune response to a 23-valent pneumococcal vaccine was similar in systemic lupus erythematosus patients receiving belimumab compared to those on standard immunosuppressives.

Because of its mechanism of action, belimumab may interfere with the response to immunisations. The SPC states that there are insufficient data to draw conclusions regarding response to other vaccines.
