These new recommendations have been added to the existing list of 40 produced in the first wave of the campaign in 2016. They include the following, for example:
• Not all patients with simple respiratory tract infection infections will need antibiotics.• Women without medical problems can be routinely given a repeat 12-month prescription of oral contraception rather than 3 or 6-month supplies.• Everyone should consider Vitamin D supplementation during winter. People who have restricted access to sunlight, or have dark skin, should consider supplementation all year round.
