Summary
Study (960 adults admitted with sepsis matched to 777 not in hospital, 788 admitted with non-sepsis infection, and 504 admitted with acute sterile inflammatory conditions) found that >1 in 5 patients who survives sepsis has a late death unexplained by pre-sepsis health status.
