Cardiovascular toxicities associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors: an observational, retrospective, pharmacovigilance study

Of 16,343,451 adverse events reported in patients treated with any drugs (full database) in VigiBase, 31,321 were reported in patients who received immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs). ICI treatment was linked to higher reporting of myocarditis, pericardial diseases and vasculitis

Researchers notes from these findings that treatment with ICIs can lead to severe and disabling inflammatory cardiovascular adverse events soon after commencement of therapy.
