According to the researchers, adrenaline has been used in resuscitation after cardiac arrest for decades and it is recommended by both the American Heart Association and the European Resuscitation Council in both shockable and non-shockable rhythms. However, they note that despite this, the utility of adrenaline administration in patients with cardiac arrest remains controversial. Their study findings might therefore be relevant to guideline developers, educators, and clinicians involved with the care of such patients.
