PEGASUS – TIMI 54 was a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial to assess the prevention of thrombotic events with ticagrelor on a background of aspirin therapy in patients with history of myocardial infarction. A PEGASUS-like population included patients with age ≥ 65 years, or age ≥50 and diabetes, renal dysfunction or prior MI, without stroke, end-stage renal failure or oral anticoagulation.
