Summary
RCT in 10,010 patients at risk for vascular complications found giving low-dose clonidine (vs. placebo) before non-cardiac surgery until 72 hours post-op, did not reduce the rate of composite of death/nonfatal MI, but increased risk of hypotension and nonfatal cardiac arrest.
