This RCT (n=713) concludes pre-specified secondary endpoint of patient-reported outcomes following 12 months of durvalumab did not compromise patients' symptoms (cough, dyspnoea, chest pain and fatigue), global health status or quality of life compared with placebo.

In a related comment, authors discuss the findings of this study and whether existing questionnaires to assess Health Related Quality of Life can be used for these new immunotherapies. The authors emphasise new questionnaires that are appropriately tailored to new treatment strategies need to be developed.
