Specialities:
Family planning | Obstetrics and gynaecology | Respiratory disorders
Summary
There have been rare reports of implants (IPs) reaching lung via pulmonary artery. An IP that cannot be palpated at insertion site in arm should be located as soon as possible and removed. If IP cannot be located, perform chest imaging. Correct subdermal insertion reduces risk.
