The meta-analysis was based on data from seven observational cohorts and one RCT and reported on outcomes on 740 infants born to 800 hydroxychloroquine exposed mothers and 1080 infants born to 1130 unexposed pregnancies.
ArthritisResearch UK currently states that “hydroxychloroquine is generally considered to be safe in pregnancy. It is usually best to continue taking it to prevent a flare of disease as the benefits of the medication outweigh the possible risks”.
