Ethosuximide, sodium valproate or lamotrigine for absence seizures in children and adolescents

Update found no new studies hence conclusions of review (8 trials; n=691) remain unchanged, i.e. with regards to efficacy/tolerability, ethosuximide represents optimal initial empirical monotherapy, but if absence & generalised tonic‐clonic seizures coexist, valproate preferred.
