European governments halt use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 patients as safety concerns grow
The move by France, Italy and Belgium followed a WHO decision to pause a large trial of hydroxychloroquine due to safety concerns. The MHRA said that a separate trial, led by the University of Oxford, was also being put on hold, less than a week after it started.
