Face coverings to become compulsory for people using public transport

Until now the government has advised people to wear face coverings on public transport and in some shops, where social distancing can’t be observed. From 15 June, it will become a “condition of travel”, coinciding with a further easing of lockdown restrictions.

SPS commentary:

The British Medical Association is urging the government to make the use of face coverings compulsory in all places where social distancing is not possible, not just on public transport.
