Fatal toxic epidermal necrolysis probably related to glimepiride in a patient with a medical history of hypersensitivity to sulfamethoxazole–trimethoprim

76‐year‐old female developed rash 1 week after start of glimepiride, went into acute respiratory failure, and died from multiorgan failure. Considering wide use of glimepiride, an antidiabetic sulfonylurea agent, authors advise physicians to be aware of this adverse reaction.
