FDA Alerts Healthcare Professionals About the Risk of Medication Errors with Tranexamic Acid Injection Resulting in Inadvertent Intrathecal (Spinal) Injection
The FDA is warning of the risk of inadvertent intrathecal administration of tranexamic acid injection, in most cases given accidentally instead of the intended intrathecal anaesthetic. Cartons and labelling will be revised and a number of suggested actions are detailed.
